2 FWD Machinery Room Horizontal pipe Vertical pipe
The part of the drainpipe was removed and the particular point of the inside of the drainpipe was checked. Ammonia density was measured and checked if how hard urinary scale has become less harder with a screwdriver. There was no odor detected around the pipe when it was removed.

Scales have been found to be thicker and the numerical value of ammonia was also found to be on the increase in both of the vertical and horizontal pipes. However, the scales were able to be removed easily by rubbing it softly with a screwdriver as it was the case previously since the scales have become softer by the effect of the device.
34Upper DECK Inspection by sight of upper deck toilet
Inspection by sight was conducted to see if there were any adhesions or removals of the urinary scale in the western style toilet. As the slide photos on 2 pages above show, urinary scale and yellow tint and black dirt were found to be on the increase under this verification, while no adhesion of hard materials like scale have been found.
There has been no inspection voyage actually made ever since “ LTIWET-12 model” of the urinary prevention device was installed and started to run. Yet, the engine of the vessel had been working during the stoppage of the vessel, and it has been found after such working of the engine that there have been decrease of urinary scale with its increased softness on the drainpipe and increased ammonia odor. Irrespective of the increased ammonia odor, ammonia odor did not spread over during the removal of the toilet drainpipe. It was seen that there was no scale increase on the drainpipe.
Softening and removal of scale was found by the fact that softened scale was adhered to the screwdriver when such scale was rubbed by the screwdriver, and with more firm rubbing by the screwdriver, scale at the bottom of the drainpipe was also removed.
This device can remove scale and prevent its further formation with the reduction of ammonia odor by flushing water while less use of the toilet would lead to the increase of yellow tint on the western style toilet.
Periodical flushing of water could reduce yellow tint on the toilet. (Function of the periodical flushing water is available in some men’s toilet)
An inspection after one year of the installation was made on the new pipe which was replaced with the previous one Verification(2)
